Based on the novel by Thomas Mallon
Premiered in 2016, the powerful story of this opera focuses on the forbidden love affair of two men working in the US federal government during the ‘lavender scare’ witch hunt of the McCarthy era of the 1950’s. The beautiful music of the opera compliments the deeply personal stories of the characters along with the dark situation in which they find themselves.
