Brigadoon
Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, Music by Frederick Loewe
July 3, 5, 6 at 7:30 pm, July 5 at 2:00 pm
Lerner and Loewe’s classic musical returns to Seagle Festival. The mystical Scottish village of Brigadoon appears only one day every one hundred years, but nevertheless this tuneful show enchants audiences much more often than that. Fun, frivolity, and drama are in the air – it’s Almost Like Being in Love.
Don Giovanni
Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte
Sung in Italian with projected English supertitles
July 17, 18, 20 at 7:30 pm, July 29 at 2:00 pm
One of the most celebrated and produced operas in the canon finds its way back to the Seagle Festival stage for 2024. With glorious music, a dramatic story, and a lead character everyone loves to hate, this is an opera not to be missed.
Cold Mountain
Music by Jennifer Higdon, Libretto by Gene Scheer
Based on the novel by Charles Frazier
July 31, August 1, 3 at 7:30 pm, August 2 at 2:00 pm
Seagle Festival is proud to present the New York premiere of this opera, premiered at Santa Fe Opera in 2015. Set during the American Civil War, the story follows a Confederate deserter in his quest to reunite with his beloved in North Carolina. Despite unbelievable trials and tribulations, the couple reunites, only to meet a tragic end.
This production is a venture of the American Center for New Works Development at Seagle Festival
Sweeney Todd
