SEAGLE FESTIVAL’S 2026 CHILDREN’S OPERA
Summer Tour: July 2025
In-School Tour: September 18 – October 16, 2026

For 2026, Seagle Festival is excited to once again have a touring children’s opera available for summer venues, and early-fall in-school performances. This year we are producing the charming children’s opera LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD by composer Seymour Barab. The production is sung in English and appropriate for children pre-K to 6th grade.
WHO: Four of our talented 2026 Seagle Festival Emerging Artists and a pianist will perform the show live for your young audience members.
WHAT: The production of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD is approximately 35 minutes long and will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The operatic version of the story follows the traditional fairy tale with beautiful and accessible music, and clever rhymes throughout. In-school bookings also include our professionally developed TEACHER GUIDE designed to prepare students for the performance and enhance their experience.
WHEN: The summer production is available during the month of July. The in-school production is available for booking September 18 to October 16, 2026.
WHERE: Our troupe will travel to your school or venue and arrive approximately one hour prior to the performance to set up. The production requirements are minimal – just a space large enough for the show, and an enthusiastic audience are required. If you have a tuned piano available, we will use it, but also have an electronic piano available that travels with the production.

HOW: The summer booking fee is variable depending on the size of your venue – please call for details. The in-school booking fee is $500 per school – all inclusive. No funds are due at the time of booking, and most in-school performances can be reimbursed or paid through your BOCES Arts in Education program (WSWHE, FEH & CVES)
