Seagle Festival hires talented production staff from across the United States. These artists, designers, and technicians fully produce four productions in ten weeks. Newly hired production staff work side by side with experienced professionals, some of whom have been returning to Seagle Festival for over ten years. Seagle Festival is a fantastic environment for students and young professionals to practice their craft and gain experience to further their careers.
NOTE: All Seagle Festival employees are required to have the ability to show proof of full vaccination from the COVID-19 virus before beginning work. The definition of fully vaccinated will be determined based on CDC guidance at the first day of any employee’s contracted period.

Lighting Assistant: Duties include assisting the Lighting Designer with circuiting, hang and focus of lighting equipment for all events, programing and cueing for all events. Must be familiar ETC Eos software. Experience with LED and moving heads a plus. The lighting assistant communicates with directors and production staff, and attends meetings and rehearsals as necessary. Applicants should have the ability to follow an opera score. Rigging skills are a plus. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. is required. Ability to work on a ladder at a height of 16 feet or more is required. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced environment.
Contract dates are June 12 thru August 20. Salary: $350/week + room & board.
Scenic Artist: Duties include prepping and painting all scenic elements, assisting with painting and finishing props, communication with designers and production staff, attending staff meetings as necessary, supervising assigned crew members. Run crew duties as assigned. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced environment. Must be able to interpret design elevations and renderings, effectively budget time, and train other shop staff in paint techniques. Candidates must be well organized, have excellent communication skills, and have experience working with a wide variety of materials. Ability to safely lift 40 lbs. is required. Ability to work on a ladder at a height of 16 feet or more is required.

Props Master: Duties include pulling, procuring, construction, and finishing of all theatrical properties for all events. This includes assisting with pulling rehearsal props and organization of props areas backstage, load-in and strike for all events. Run crew duties as assigned. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced environment. The Props Master will communicate with directors and production staff, and attend meetings and rehearsals as necessary. Candidates must be well organized, have excellent communication skills, and have experience working with a wide variety of materials. Adobe Photoshop, Painting, upholstery, furniture construction and repair skills are preferred. Welding skills are a plus. Ability to safely lift 40 lbs. is required. Ability to work on a ladder at a height of 16 feet or more is required.

Scenic Apprentice: Duties include assisting with construction, finishing and painting of scenic elements for all events, load-in and strike for all events. Run crew duties as assigned. Applicants should have basic carpentry and painting skills. Sewing, lighting, and welding skills are a plus.

Production Stage Manager: This is a non-union contracted position. Duties will include promoting a safe, productive, and professional environment in rehearsals and performances, overseeing/supervising stage management and run crew staff, serve as calling or assistant stage manager per season assignments. Running of all rehearsals and performances as assigned including attendance, breaks, facilitating rehearsal needs and maintaining schedule, supervising the stage crew during technical and dress rehearsals and performances. Create, maintain, and finalize for production archives a clean and accurate calling score notating all technical cues and blocking as needed for facilitating of calling a production. Create and maintain technical running paperwork related to productions as described in the stage management handbook. Distribute daily notes to ensure communication of needs between all departments on shows/rehearsals assigned to call/run. Submit and review the daily schedule needs for the next day to the Company Manager. Attend full company strike calls for all 4 mainstage productions and assist with general production focused office work as needed. Must be able to read music and accurately call cues on musical placements. Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. is required. Must be able to work as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced environment. Experience working with and mentoring young staff is a plus. Opera experience is preferred.

Stitcher: Duties include preparing costume for all productions, costume fittings and alterations, running of shows and assisting with costume changes during runs, assisting with costume strike, communicating with the production department. Applicants should have excellent sewing skills, be well organized, have excellent time management skills, able to read and create costume plots. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a very busy and fast paced environment.
